  • Salt

I think this is the ultimate seasoning to have, you just know the food is missing something without salt. I’ve not been to a house that does not have salt and almost every dish needs it. Sometimes, just adding salt to your dish is way better than adding different ingredients. Salt is a versatile ingredient, you can use it to preserve food, cook, bathe, tanning, etc. Some health benefits of salt are it helps increase, balance the body fluids but too much salt can cause high blood pressure. There are different types of salt like sea salt, smoked salt, Himalayan (pink) salt, black salt, and so on.

  • Pepper

Salt and pepper are the best combos for any dish. If you want to eat something simple or that does not need too many spices, these two ingredients are the way to go. I think just adding pepper to a dish is not a good idea, it is meant to complement other seasonings. Different types of pepper are black pepper, cayenne pepper, jalapeno, bell pepper, etc. Some health benefits are powerful antioxidants, improves digestion, etc. It can be added to any dish but be careful about how much you put in there.

  • All-purpose seasoning

This is the easiest ingredient to use because you have every ingredient you might need in one. I use this all the time and it never disappoints. There are different brands of all-purpose seasonings, you just have to choose one that suits your taste.

  • Mesquite

I call this my secret ingredient, I use this all the time, it has a spicy and a hint of sweetness to it. You can add it to fish, pork, beef, and chicken before grilling or broiling. It is similar to all-purpose seasoning, but the difference is you don’t put this on everything because it is spicier. It smells really nice and can be used to improve the aroma of the dish. Mesquite is a combination of chili powder, paprika, garlic, sugar, sunflower oil, etc. It contains vitamins, minerals, calcium, fiber, protein, etc.

  • Parsley

This is what I call the finishing touch of a dish. It adds color to it and makes it presentable. No matter what you are cooking or how it came out, Parsley will always make it look better. Some health benefits are it is rich in antioxidants, vitamins A, K, C, and improves blood sugar, etc.
